Celebrating The Pea Island LifeSavers
with Nearpod

Using modern music, lyrics and animation, Nearpod brings history to life in a unique package, created specifically for schools. Lessons combine dynamic short form content with learning materials. The story of the Pea Island Lifesavers highlights the accomplishments of early black American heroes at the turn of the 20th century. For this project, we referenced archival photography, cartography and historical art works to piece together the story.
